If you live in the city or in the suburbs with a busy schedule, you may not get the opportunity to get away and relax as much as you like. If you do get the option to take a coastal vacation with your significant other, this can be the invigorating getaway that you need. There are some things that most everyone does in coastal towns, such as go to open beach markets and go swimming, but there are some things that others may skip. Here are some things to do when you are on a couple's vacation in a beach town.
Rent out a pontoon boat
A small and affordable party boat, pontoon boats are perfect for small groups. On the pontoon boat, you can bring drinks, lunch or dinner, plus fishing equipment if you like to fish. Be sure to have someone on the boat who knows how to operate a pontoon, or take a lesson on how to operate the boat yourself. Being away from the beaches that can sometimes be crowded, and on the clear blue water, is the epitome of relaxation.
Visit the favorite local bar
Don't just mingle in restaurants that are nearby the beach or with other tourists. Go in town and go to the bar. Stop by a favorite local restaurant before you have a few drinks to check out the atmosphere of these eateries. Many places for locals may be located more inward instead of directly on the beach, so you may be able to get a little more warmth from drafts that are so frequent due to the ocean. One of the best things about local bars and eateries is that they will have the chance to ask around for info on the best places to eat, real estate in the area, or places to avoid.
Stay at a hotel with a balcony
Most people would not pay attention to the outside space of a hotel room when selecting a place to stay on a vacation. If you are looking for a vacation hotel or rental, you should look for one that has a balcony. The balcony is the perfect place to relax when you are tired of walking around and exploring, yet don't want to give up the beach vibes. Have dinner on the balcony as you enjoy the salt water smell and the crashing of the waves.
